Itinerary
Day 1+
On your arrival at “Puerto Francisco de Orellana” “El Coca”, after a 35-minute flight, a representative of “LA SELVA AMAZON ECOLODGE” will welcome you and then take you by private vehicle to the quay of the embarkation port on the banks of the “Napo” River. You will take a seat aboard a relatively comfortable motorized canoe, equipped with a roof to protect from the sun, or possible showers, for a journey lasting approximately 2.5 hours on the “Río Napo”, through the tropical forest, accompanied by explanations from an English-speaking naturalist guide. En route, you will be offered a delicious picnic.
When you arrive at the Lodge, the manager and his team will welcome you with a welcome cocktail. He will briefly present to you the facilities and services that will be available to you, and will give you the necessary recommendations for your stay. You will then be taken to your respective accommodations, before leaving with your naturalist guide for your first excursion in the forest.
Day 2+
Breakfast will be served early in the morning, because it is at dawn that we will be able to observe different activities of animal life. We can, depending on the interest of the group, the climatic conditions of the moment and consultation with your guide, go and observe a "lamedero" which is a natural place where different species of parrots come to feed on mineralized clay in order to eliminate the acidity of the fruits they eat, visit a native "Kichwa" community, in order to discover their customs, traditions and crafts, or, then, visit an observation tower which rises above the canopy, 45m high, offers a spectacular view of the forest and its surroundings, and allows you to observe different species of birds, monkeys and others.
For people who do not wish to participate in the activities, they can relax quietly in the SPA with a good relaxing massage, or, relax, quietly, in the lounge.
Day 3+
You could take a canoe ride around the lagoon, take a short trail to see (hopefully) pygmy marmosets, or, visit the nearby butterfly farm if it's raining really hard. Once again, the activity will be decided at the last moment by the guide, depending on the conditions. A gourmet dinner awaits you in our dining room, the afternoon turns into evening.
Day 4+
After a good breakfast, we will return to Coca airport to catch your flight back to Quito. You will take the same route as when you arrived: journey by canoe, a short distance walk, then a two-hour journey on the motorboat to arrive in Coca. You will be taken care of by one of our representatives.
